Castle Cottage was built against the Castle Keep by the Post Office in 1887 as a cable station. This cosy cottage has spectacular coastal views and is the ideal place to explore Lundy's beauty.

The castle was built by Henry III in about 1250. By 1787, cottages had been built round the small courtyard inside the Keep. Castle Keep East has fine views.

Our restoration of Danescombe Mine was one of the earliest conversions of an industrial building into a house. The result is a wonderful exotic hybrid in a wooded valley leading to the Tamar.

Old House, North and South, is the most handsome building on the island, in perhaps the best position, and made of the best-looking granite.

Old School, long known as 'the Blue Bung', is the island’s former Sunday school. It is a small building with a snug interior. A stay here never feels quite long enough.

Square Cottage’s front door opens on to the garden behind Old House. To the south and east it has spectacular views, especially from the upstairs sitting-room.

Mill House dates from 1700 and is mainly built of stone with a thatched and slated roof. No. 1 is the slightly larger of two cottages and has a wide fireplace in the sitting room.

Designed and constructed by James Mansergh and Robert Rawlinson, work began on Appleton Water Tower in 1877 to provide a clean water supply to the Sandringham Estate.

This Gothic folly sits on the edge of the Gibside estate. It stands in the highest part of the park in a grassy clearing, looking down on an octagonal pool with views over the Derwent Valley.

Constructed in 1893 in colonial style, Bramble Villa has stunning views over the sea to Devon.

Brinkburn Mill sits next to the River Coquet at the bottom of a thickly-wooded valley. A mill has been on this site since medieval times, with the present building dating to about 1800.
