The Calverley Old Hall project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we are able to offer you the opportunity to learn the traditional skills used in furniture making at Grade I Listed Calverley Old Hall, Leeds.

Come along to one of our free, full-day furniture making workshops, led by Simon Dunn from History in the Making, and learn the skills needed to make one of three beautiful timber benches, which will be used on site at Calverley Old Hall in the Chapel and the new community garden.

Accessibility

The event will take place outside, except in adverse weather conditions. Please note, the interior and external areas where you will be working are wheelchair accessible but may be uneven in places. We want to make our workshops as accessible as possible for all, please let us know if you have any specific access requirements before the event.

Getting here

There is no parking on site, the building is located in the centre of Calverley, on Woodhall Road, so we encourage visitors to use Leeds and Bradford’s excellent public transport to travel to the event. If you need to drive, there is ample on street parking in the surrounding area. Please park considerately for our neighbours.

Donating to The Landmark Trust

As a charity, the Landmark Trust relies on donations to support our work. We couldn’t have rescued over 200 Landmarks without the support of people like you.

Your support saves historic buildings in danger of being lost forever and makes them available for all to experience and enjoy.

Your donation could help train the craftspeople needed to restore buildings like this, or it could offer opportunities to young people to experience history first-hand, through our open days and free stays for study groups.

We would be delighted if you felt able to add a gift to your booking today. We can’t wait to stay in touch and show you the difference your support has made. Thank you!
