John Evetts

Furnishing Consultant

John Evetts has shaped the presentation of Landmark’s buildings for over 40 years. Joining Landmark in 1976 following a career as a photographer, John worked closely with Landmark’s founders John and Christian Smith in the early days of the charity: he knows each building and its surroundings intimately.

The first Landmark John furnished independently was Piazza di Spagna in Rome during 1981, for which he sourced all the furniture from markets around Rome and used an ice cream bicycle to transport the purchases. His proudest project is Landmark’s ambitious restoration of The Grange, Augustus Pugin’s family home in Ramsgate.

From our workshop in the Cotswolds, John advises Landmark on furnishings and the settings of its buildings and manages a small, highly-specialist, crafts team.
