Nestled in the pinewoods of the Shuttleworth Estate in Bedfordshire sits Keeper’s Cottage. First opening in July 2007, Keeper's has become a particular favourite among families for its proximity to invigorating walks and the aeroplanes of the Shuttleworth Collection.
With years of breakfasts and Sunday roasts in the kitchen, enthusiastic games, jigsaws and completion of Explorer Packs in the sitting room, and many a suitcase taken to the bedrooms, the interior was in need of a refresh. Landmark's craftsman Matt Cannell, joiner Mark Smitten and apprentice Rose Andrews (Mark and Rose pictured below) have recently dedicated several weeks to revitalising the building.
All walls and woodwork have been repainted using a selection of Craig & Rose paints, and night storage heaters replaced with new electric heaters. New kitchen units and white goods have been installed, tile splashbacks too.
We have also installed an electric car charging point in the parking area. Within the courtyard, local contractors tended to the walls, gates, stone pamments and thresholds – all awaiting the next 15 years of footsteps.
We also recently rephotographed this Landmark, click below to explore.
