Join us to explore Morpeth Castle on Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 April 2024, 10am-4pm.
We have teamed up again with the Northumbrian Gathering to include drop-in free family friendly activities throughout the weekend. Expect live music, storytelling, historical reinactors along with our friendly Landmark staff on hand.
The Landmark we know today as Morpeth Castle was originally a gatehouse built at the entrance to the castle from which it gets its name and it sits on a hill with fine views of the town and the River Wansbeck.
These free open days are an opportunity to see inside this local landmark and learn more about its history and restoration. Information on the building's history and children's activity sheets will be available on site.
Pre-booking via Eventbrite is preferred but not essential.
Open Day entry
Due to the historic nature of our buildings we have a limited capacity for our Open Day events. You may therefore be asked to wait a short time while other visitors finish their visit. Whilst booking is not essential, priority will be given to those who have booked in advance. Thank you for your co-operation.

Donating to Landmark
As a charity, the Landmark Trust relies on donations to support our work. We couldn’t have rescued over 200 Landmarks without the support of people like you. Your support saves historic buildings in danger of being lost forever and makes them available for all to experience and enjoy. Your donation could help train the craftspeople needed to restore buildings like this, or it could offer opportunities to young people to experience history first-hand, through our open days and free stays for study groups. We would be delighted if you felt able to add a gift to your booking today. We can’t wait to stay in touch and show you the difference your support has made. Thank you!
