An elegant pavilion at the end of a long vista, Ingestre Pavilion sits in parkland designed by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown for the second Viscount Chetwynd of Ingestre Hall.

This spectacular gatehouse was built in about 1580 in front of an older house. In 1586 Mary, Queen of Scots, was imprisoned at Tixall. She was executed a month later.

This is a disused railway station on the outskirts of the village of Alton. Alton Towers, with its many attractions, is a very short drive away.
