Calverley Old Hall Chapel

The Chapel at Calverley Old Hall is open to visit for free on selected Mondays and Fridays between 11am and 2pm. Drop-in, no need to book.

Inside you will find interpretation panels describing the history of Calverley Old Hall, the Calverley Family, the people who have lived here, and information about the Landmark Trust’s project to revive the building and bring it back into use and secure its future.

You will also be able to see a few of the apotropaic finds which were discovered in the building during the works in 2021 – 2024. Objects including leather children’s shoes from the 18th – 19th century and a children’s whistle from the 19th century which was found in the wall of the Solar.

Finally, you can take a seat on a replica medieval chapel bench, made and hand carved by community partners as part of our community engagement project in 2024.

The restoration of Calverley Old Hall and the interpretation presented in the Chapel was made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
