Calverley Old Hall Community Garden

Local members of the community are welcome to enjoy our Community Garden all throughout the year.

The Community Garden at Calverley Old Hall is designed as a space of enjoyment for our neighbours and local community. We welcome visitors to explore, spend time, relax and socialise in the Community Garden, using it and caring for it as if it were their own.

The Community Garden is open during daylight hours, 365 days a year, and all are welcome.

The use of the Community Garden is at your own risk, and children should be supervised at all times.

Things to look out for

In the garden you will find herbs and plants which have been grown in gardens in Britain for centuries. All are inspired by traditional gardens of the Medieval era. Labels around the flowerbeds will tell you more about the plants and their traditional uses.

Visitors can also hunt for the carved stones which are hidden around the garden, all inspired by Calverley Old Hall, and hand carved by members of the local community who attended our stone carving workshops in 2023.

Finally, take a seat  and relax on one of two oak benches, hand-made by community partners during joinery workshops as part of our community engagement project in 2024.

The restoration of Calverley Old Hall and the provision of the Community Garden was made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
